Free Guy has just hit theaters, but director Shawn Levy already has plans for a second part. In the future, he hopes to be able to use Minecraft and Call of Duty.
Levy spoke about possible storylines for a second part. The Canadian director already has some ideas in mind for the NPC character Guy played by Ryan Reynolds. “I’d love to see him in Call of Duty,” Levy said. “Think about the comedy and action possibilities in that game. There are almost endless possibilities. It’s very tempting to think about that.” The director also admits that he would like to see the NPC appear in Minecraft. “I’d be lying if I said I’m not brainstorming the possibilities yet.”
At another point in the interview, Levy talks more about his hopes for a possible sequel. He explains that he thinks it would be great if the character could experience other worlds from video game culture.
“You and I know how wide the worlds can be. It taps into the worlds of video games and video game culture. I’d love to see him jump from one world to the next,” Levy said.
