The Borderlands movie, based on the popular dystopian eponymous game franchise, officially kicked off this month. And with this kick off some great insights surfaced.
The director of Gearbox Software publishing house, Randy Pitchford, confirms that the film adaptation will take place in an entirely new universe and therefore does not build on the world that was shown in the games. However, the story remains true to the original characters. Fans hoped they would pick up where Borderlands 3 ended or picked a passage between the parts, but instead we get an alternate universe.
The movie will nonetheless be one to keep an eye out for. With Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) as the writer not much can go wrong. Combine that with some decent actors like Cate Blanchett (Lilith), Kevin Hart (Roland), Ariana Greenblatt (Tiny Tina), Jamie Lee Curtis (Dr. Tannis), Jack Black (voice: Claptrap) and you’re set for a great movie.
There is no date set for a release, but we will sure keep you updated.
