Dota 2 gets Netflix anime series

Dota 2 is getting an animated series on Netflix called DOTA: Dragon’s Blood. This series is about the characters from the game and offers a deeper look into the universe of Dota 2. The series can be seen exclusively on Netflix from March 25.

In the first trailer of DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, we are introduced to the character Davion, a Dragon Knight who, according to the series description, takes on the bad guys of the fantasy world. During his adventures, he meets Princess Mirana, who is herself on a secret mission. Both characters are based on the eponymous heroes in Dota 2. It is still unclear what other heroes the series contains.

It is not the first time that Netflix has produced such animation based on a video game. Previously, Castlevania was successfully turned into an animated series.

Dota 2 is an online multiplayer game where teams of five compete against each other. The game is one of the largest esports games at the moment and is best known for the huge prize pool during the World Cup The International which contains more than 30 million euros. Dota 2 features over 100 playable characters, each with their own background and story.
