Last month we saw the announcement of Henry Cavill playing the role as Geralt in the upcoming Netflix The Witcher series. Now, other roles like Ciri and Yennefer are being filled as well. Producer Lauren Hissrich staid it was a tough process, but they wanted actors who fit the roles and not the best actors fit for marketing, which seems like a good way to go.
The outcome of that strategy are some lesser known actors, such as War of the Worlds actress Freya Allen who has been signed for the role of Ciri and Anya Chalotra, known from The ABC Murders, will be portraying Yennefer. Lesser roles have now been filled as well. Jodhi May, Game of Thrones, has landed the role of queen Calanthe and Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson will play her husband Eist. Adam Levy will portray the druid Mousesack and MyAnna Buring, Twilight, will be seen as Tissaia. And finally Millie Brady, Pride and Prejudice, will take on the role of banned princess Renfri.
Shooting of the serie will soon start and will feature eight episodes. We will most likely be able to watch the show in 2020.
