Adi Shankar to produce Assassin’s Creed tv serie

Ubisoft announced an upcoming series of Assassin’s Creed in March and now it has struck a producer in the likes of Adi Shankar.

Adi Shankar, the producer of Netflix’s Castlevania, revealed on Facebook that he will be creating an anime set in the Assassin’s Creed universe. “I’m happy to let you guys know that I’ve selected my next project! I played the first edition of Assassin’s Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream. At that moment I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin’s Creed and create an original story set in it as an anime series. If anyone tells you not to follow your passion in life they are wrong.”

No details are yet released about the upcoming serie. But it makes sense to start the story somewhere during the very first Assassin’s Creed game or maybe even earlier to deepen the lore. Given the wide experience of Shankar we have good faith that he will deliver an epic tv-series. Apart from producing master piece Castlevania, he has also produced movies such as Dredd, The Grey and Lone Survivor.

The tv series is in line with the direction Ubisoft has recently taken. We have already seen an Assassin’s Creed movie from Ubisoft Motion Pictures starring Michael Fassbender, which was not what we hoped it would be. However, we have good hopes they have learned from their mistakes especially since a The Division movie is well in the works with superstars Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain as confirmed roles.

A lot to expect the coming years from Ubisoft. We look forward to getting the updates for you!
